Landfill Operator

Role Summary:

Our client, a leader in the waste management sector, is looking for an experienced Front-End Loader Operator to assist with day-to-day landfill operations. The role involves operating heavy equipment, including Class 4 tip trucks, to move, manage, and compact waste efficiently while maintaining safe and effective operations at the landfill tip face.

Responsibilities May Include:

• Operate Frontend Loader to manage landfill waste.
• Use a heavy rigid tip truck – requires class 4 driver licence.
• Coordinate with truck drivers to ensure smooth waste movement.
• Mix and compact landfill materials according to operational standards.
• Conduct routine equipment checks and basic maintenance to ensure safety and functionality.

Skills & Requirements:

• Proven experience operating excavators and dozers in a professional setting.
• Mandatory W, T, R endorsements for operating heavy machinery.
• Class 4 license is required.
• Familiarity with landfill operations and waste management practices is advantageous.
• Reliable, safety-conscious, and able to work flexible shifts.
• Physically capable of performing manual labour and working in varied conditions.
• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration within team environments
• Availability for shift work, including weekends and overtime.
• Competency with numeracy and literacy, essential for documentation and interaction within a diverse workplace.
