Job Function Description You will start working in a modern laboratory where you are responsible for various analyses within the domain of asbestos and building materials. Your tasks include: - Qualitative asbestos analyses: via microscopic research, you determine whether delivered materials contain asbestos fibers - Quantitative asbestos analyses: you process granules and soil samples by sieving them into different fractions and investigating these on asbestos. Based on this, you will determine the presence or absence of asbestos in the samples. Your work will involve: • Conducting qualitative and quantitative analyses to identify the presence or absence of asbestos in various materials • Processing and analyzing samples using various techniques, including microscopy and sieving • Maintaining accurate records of your findings and reporting any results to relevant parties • Collaborating with colleagues to ensure the quality and integrity of your work • Staying up-to-date with the latest developments and best practices in the field of asbestos analysis • Participating in internal and external training programs to improve your skills and knowledge • Working independently and as part of a team to achieve shared goals • Maintaining a safe and healthy working environment by following established protocols and guidelines • Adhering to all relevant regulations, laws, and standards related to asbestos analysis • Providing excellent customer service to clients and stakeholders • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with colleagues, clients, and other stakeholders • Participating in quality control and assurance activities to ensure the accuracy and reliability of your work • Maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with discretion • Working flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by the needs of the laboratory • Traveling to various locations, including client sites and training facilities, as needed • Participating in internal and external meetings, workshops, and conferences to stay informed about industry developments and best practices • Maintaining a high level of professionalism, integrity, and ethics in all aspects of your work.
