Lab Assistant – Job Description

School: Kanakia International School, CBSE Chembur

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist Science teachers in conducting practical classes for Grades 6–10.

• Prepare laboratory equipment, chemicals, and materials before each session.

• Support students during experiments while ensuring proper safety procedures.

• Maintain and calibrate lab instruments regularly.

• Keep the lab clean, organised, and compliant with safety standards.

• Maintain inventory of lab materials, chemicals, and equipment; prepare requisition lists when needed.

• Label, store, and handle chemicals safely; ensure proper waste disposal.

• Help plan and set up for practical exams, science fairs, and project work.

• Maintain records of lab usage, breakages, and consumables.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Science (B.Sc. in Physics, Chemistry, or Biology).

• Knowledge of lab safety protocols and equipment handling.

• Attention to detail, responsibility, and ability to support teachers and students effectively.

• Prior school lab experience preferred but not mandatory.
