Accountant

For our client based in Bydgoszcz, we are looking for an experienced Accountant who will independently manage full accounting in accordance with Polish accounting standards and tax regulations.

Tasks Performed

• Maintaining current accounting documentation and account records

• Verifying, debiting, and crediting accounting documents

• Settling receivables and payables and reconciling account balances

• Participation in the month-end and year-end closing process

• Preparing financial statements in accordance with applicable regulations (Accounting Act, IFRS)

• Preparing and submitting tax returns: VAT, CIT, GUS, NBP

• Preparing management reports and summaries for internal and external purposes

• Cooperation with external auditors during financial statement audits

• Settling domestic and international transactions (VAT, Intra-Community Acquisition/Supply, import of services)

• Supervising the accuracy of accounting records

• Cooperation with internal departments and external institutions (Tax Office, Social Insurance Institution, Central Statistical Office)

Mandatory Requirements

Finance

• Advanced knowledge of MS Excel (pivot tables, logical formulas)

• Experience in preparing financial statements

• Experience in month-end and year-end closing processes

Accounting

• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

• Good work organization and independence

• High accuracy and attention to detail

• Knowledge of accounting software (Comarch Optima, Symfonia, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics or similar)

• Experience in preparing financial statements

• Experience in month-end and year-end closing processes

• Practical knowledge of Polish accounting and tax regulations (VAT, CIT)

• Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting

Foreign Languages

• Fluent command of English, both spoken and written (min. B2)

Minimum experience in the presented areas of work:

• 3 years

What languages do you know at an advanced level?:

• English

Level of education and field: Bachelor's Degree

• Higher education in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related fields

Nice to have

Accounting

• Accounting certification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)

• Experience in cooperating with external auditors

• Knowledge of the specifics of international transactions (Intra-Community Acquisition/Supply, export of services)

• Experience in a corporate environment or accounting outsourcing

• Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
