As a Corporal Medical Caregiver, you have a role in military healthcare, contributing significantly to medical services during exercises and deployments for both Dutch military personnel and our allies, and possibly also for civilians during national and international missions.

Note: If you are hired for this position, you will be appointed by the Ministry of Defence as a 'Corporal Medical Caregiver Individual Healthcare (VIG)'

As a Corporal Medical Caregiver at the 400 Medical Battalion, you are part of a medical unit. During exercises and deployments, such a unit builds a complete infirmary with operating rooms, treatment rooms, and intensive care units. You will support and assist the doctors and nurses.

As a Corporal Medical Caregiver at the 13th or 43rd Medical Company, you will be part of the Role 1 Medical Treatment Facility (MTF), the first aid post of the Ministry of Defence. Together with your team of 7 people, you will provide necessary first aid under operational conditions. You will support and assist the doctor and the general military nurse. You will care for the wounded and make them ready for transport if necessary. Other tasks you will perform include maintenance of equipment and the setup, operational readiness, and dismantling of a mobile medical facility. This also includes aspects like security and camouflage.

This depends, among other things, on the results of the Psychological Assessment, the Medical Examination, and the Security Investigation. Once all parts of the application process have been successfully completed, the start date will be discussed and finalized with you.

Where you will work

You will be assigned to a medical unit:

· The 13th Light Brigade in Oirschot: the combat unit of the Southern Netherlands. With their armored wheeled vehicles, they are fast and broadly deployable.
