Do you want to work on vehicles you won't find at any other company? And do you have an MBO-2 diploma (Business) Automotive Engineering? As an Air Assault Automotive Mechanic Corporal, you ensure that everything on wheels of the Air Assault Brigade keeps running smoothly.

If you are hired for this position, you will be appointed within the Ministry of Defence with the job title 'Corporal Vehicle Mechanic'.

What you will do

The Air Assault Brigade is a rapidly deployable unit that can be on location anywhere in the world within 20 days. For example, to provide assistance or combat a conflict. Helicopters guarantee the Air Assault Brigade rapid troop deployment. They also ensure the transport of weapons, equipment, food, and other supplies. The Technical Service is responsible for the maintenance and repair of the equipment. Both vehicles and weapon systems and other technical equipment.

As an Air Assault Automotive Mechanic Corporal, you will perform maintenance and repair work on the wheeled vehicles used by the Army. Think of trucks, off-road vehicles, and armored vehicles, but also motorcycles and tow trucks. Your work primarily consists of disassembling and assembling components, carrying out repairs, and providing other support services. Because you are a military professional as well as a technician, mastering your personal weapon and camouflaging and securing your own equipment are also part of your job description.

Note: There are multiple start dates (commencement dates) per year. The commencement date for which you are eligible will be determined later. This depends, among other things, on the outcome of the Psychological Assessment, the Medical Examination, and the Security Screening. As soon as all parts of the application process have been successfully completed, the start date will be discussed and agreed upon with you.

Where you will work

You will work at the Air Assault Brigade in Schaarsbergen or Assen.

After entering service, you will first follow the General Military Training Air Assault (AMOL) in Schaarsbergen. In the AMOL, you will be trained to be able to maintain yourself as an individual soldier in an operational area and to function within a military organization. After completion, you will start the vocational training at the Logistics Training and Education Center in Soesterberg.
As a Soldier, you will participate in various exercises. In addition, you must take into account that, like every Soldier, you may be deployed.

As an Air Assault Automotive Mechanic Corporal, you will perform maintenance and repair work on trucks, off-road vehicles, and armored vehicles of the 11th Air Assault Brigade.
