Construction Engineer (m/w/d) Bioresorbable Implants

Job description

We are looking for you as a project manager at the next possible time!

medical magnesium develops metallic bioabsorbable implants for orthopedic and trauma surgical therapy. The implants are mechanically load-bearing and will be physiologically broken down by the body after fracture healing. A second operation to remove the implants is not necessary. The entire team works towards providing high-quality products to patients and users. We are always on the lookout for people who share our fascination with innovation and technology.

Tasks

  • You develop products according to established business processes and will be part of the existing F&E team.
  • You possess or acquire implant-specific functional and user knowledge and consider this in the design and layout of new product developments with the team.
  • You take over the functionally and manufacturing-ready construction of novel implant systems based on magnesium.
  • You are responsible for maintaining drawing histories and ensuring their seamless archiving.
  • You stand in regular coordination with production and product testing and consider corresponding feedbacks when designing products.
  • You take over regulatory required documentation obligations in connection with implant design development.
  • You generate the obligation document (DRS) based on formulated loads (URS).
  • You work independently, goal-oriented, and within a defined time frame to solve problems and align with the VP F&E.

Qualification

  • Completed Master's degree, preferably with a focus on materials science, biomedical engineering or mechanical engineering - or comparable (e.g. relevant training or work experience in the relevant field)
  • Material knowledge regarding magnesium and its technological applications in medical technology, as well as basic knowledge of corrosion of materials is advantageous.
  • Basic knowledge of existing orthopedic implant systems and their implantation techniques is advantageous
  • Expertise in using CAD systems, preferably with SolidWorks/Inventor, especially for designing and laying out screw geometries
  • Good knowledge of PDM system use for maintaining and preserving technical drawing records.
  • CAM expertise is advantageous
  • Knowledge of designing obligation documents (DRS)
  • High integration ability and cooperative behavior with experts in adjacent topics
  • High self-reliance and can-do mentality
  • Fluent English and German language skills are advantageous
