Are you an enthusiastic cook who enjoys preparing tasty and healthy meals? Do you like variety? Then this cook position at Paresto is for you! You will be working at the DOK6 location in the Marinehaven in Den Helder.
As a cook in our team, you will ensure that all meals are prepared with care and attention. You will not only prepare breakfast, lunch, and hot meals, but you will also be involved in banqueting activities and meal delivery.
As a cook, you will therefore deal with a wide range of cooking processes. In addition, you will also be responsible for the hospitable serving of meals. Naturally, you will also carry out cleaning, warehousing, and administrative tasks to keep the kitchen well-organized and a pleasant place to work together.

From 2025, Ministry of Defence employees will no longer receive holiday pay and the year-end bonus as separate payments, but will accrue them monthly through the Individual Choice Budget (IKB). The IKB for Ministry of Defence employees totals 16.33 percent of the salary. With the IKB, Ministry of Defence employees can decide for themselves when, on what, and how much budget they spend on time, money, or fiscal facilities. This can be up to the maximum monthly accrued budget. The IKB can be used for:
- A maximum of 15 percent of the salary can be used monthly for the exchange of the commuting allowance.
- The monthly difference between the allowance for the costs of personal transport for commuting and the fiscal maximum.
- A bicycle for personal use, including bicycle accessories and bicycle insurance.
- A computer that can also be used for work or study, including computer accessories and computer insurance.
- A battery or electrical parts for a bicycle.
- Having union dues paid out.
- The Ministry of Defence expects to further expand the possibilities of the IKB in the future.

The Division Facilities, Logistics, and Security (DFLB) is a professional organization that provides facility and logistical services to its clients within and outside the Ministry of Defence, where and when needed. We operate in a client-oriented, cost-conscious, reliable, flexible, and transparent manner.
The work is carried out within the DFLB, which falls under the Defence Support Command (DOSCO). The Division Facilities, Logistics, and Security consists of a Staff (Cabinet, Facilities Section, Movement and Transport Management Section, the Program Bureau, the Barracks Command DOSCO Locations, and dedicated support) and the following companies:
Paresto (caterer), Defence Facility Service Centre (FBD), Service Point, Defence Traffic and Transport Organization (DVVO), Defence Media Centre (MCD), Financial Administration and Management Office (FABK), Bureau International Military Sports (BIMS), Royal Home for Ex-Servicemen and Museum Bronbeek (KTOMMB), and Defence Guard and Security Organization.
Paresto operates as an agency and provides catering (company restaurants, banqueting, events, and field rations) for the entire defence organization. Paresto provides, among other things, products and services for food and canteen services in support of operational and exercising units and has advisory and (policy) support tasks for the Chief Directorate of Personnel (HDP) and the representatives of the defence components.
The approximately 75 Paresto locations are divided into 6 operational districts, each with a District Manager who reports to the Head of Operations, who is also the Deputy Director.
