About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented Food Preparation and Catering Assistant to join our airline catering team at Perth Airport.

In this role, your knife skills will be essential for preparing fresh ingredients and portioning food accurately. You will also ensure high hygiene and safety standards in a fast-paced environment.

Your Responsibilities

As a Food Preparation and Catering Assistant, your main tasks will include:

• Chopping, slicing, dicing, and portioning ingredients using your knife skills according to airline specifications.
• Ensuring food items meet presentation and portioning standards.
• Following food safety rules and maintaining a clean workspace.
• Working closely with chefs and other kitchen staff to meet daily production targets.
• Assisting with stock management and minimising waste.

The Must-Haves

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• Previous experience in a kitchen or food preparation role is preferred.
• Strong knife skills and the ability to cut and portion ingredients efficiently is essential.
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP certification is a plus).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen.
• Team-oriented mindset with good communication skills.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.
• Flexibility to work shifts, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Reliable transportation to and from both work sites at any time of day to ensure punctual arrival for all shifts.
