Temporary Handyman/Handywoman - 40 hours (Part-time)

We are looking for a handy, flexible, and technically skilled handyman/handywoman who wants to play an essential role within our forensic psychiatric institution in Antwerp. As a handyman/handywoman, you are responsible for performing, coordinating, and following up on facility and technical work assignments. In this versatile function as handyman/handywoman, you are responsible for: Handy services: Performing small repairs and maintenance tasks in the building such as replacing a door lock, painting a wall, replacing a lamp, or venting the heating system. If you are technically strong and want to learn more, your task package can be tailored accordingly. Customer-oriented communication: You respond to issues at the request of the customer and communicate quickly with the customer. You will spend 1 week out of 3 on permanent duty with a watch phone. Reporting and signaling: Signaling and reporting safety risks. You will handle your tasks on a tablet. Logistic support: Supporting logistic processes, such as small relocations or moving furniture. Safety awareness: You adopt a zero-risk mindset and do not compromise on safety, whether it concerns your own safety, that of your colleagues, consumers, customers, or other stakeholders. Ensuring a safe working and living environment in collaboration with the treatment team. In a forensic setting, you work in a unique context where safety and discretion are central. Your technical knowledge and professional attitude contribute to the well-being and stability of patients and colleagues. You are handy and technically strong. A technical education is desired. Basic knowledge of electricity and experience reading electrical diagrams is desired. You have preferably already experienced as a handyman, handywoman, technician, or maintenance worker in a building. You understand the sensitivity of a forensic setting and approach patients and situations respectfully and discreetly. You are motivated. If you are technically strong, there is the possibility to further develop into a technician. You are quickly available to start. You are flexible and willing to follow an internal training program (1 week out of 3). You have a valid driving license B to reach work during the night or weekend if necessary. You can certainly draw on the knowledge and experience of your colleagues. You stand open to starting with a temporary contract.
