Job description

You build AI applications that run in production for the client: dialog systems, semantic search, RAG pipelines, agents with tool integration. No prototype for the drawer.

Who we are

Rockstardevelopers, founded in 2015 in Mannheim, with offices in Stuttgart and Munich. From hundreds of projects for enterprise and medium-sized clients, we know how to build software that holds up in critical situations. For some time now, our focus has been shifting towards AI: LLM applications, RAG, and agent systems that go into production for the client.

What it's about

Our clients are Deutsche Bahn and IT service providers in the public sector, a regulated environment with high demands on data protection, the EU AI Act, and operational security. There, you will integrate AI solutions into existing business applications. The project language is German. Daily work is remote-first, client appointments mostly in Frankfurt am Main.

Our clients fill these projects almost exclusively with permanent employees. That's why we are looking for you as a permanent employee.

Tasks

Integrate language models into business applications: RAG with retrieval and reranking, tool calling, MCP servers, multi-agent workflows
Set up evaluation: measure response quality, limit hallucinations, keep costs and token consumption under control
Select and keep models interchangeable (Azure AI Foundry, AWS Bedrock, open models), consider governance and data protection
Operations: Containers, CI/CD, monitoring, alerting
Close coordination with the client's business department, architecture, and operations

What you need to bring

Every point must be demonstrable in your CV.

At least three years of software development in Python or TypeScript, after training or studies
At least one LLM application that went into production with a client or employer (RAG, tool calling, agents), with your contribution to it
Docker, CI/CD, and Git from everyday project work
German at least C1 level in spoken and written form

What you ideally bring

Not a must, but the more of this, the better:

Kubernetes or OpenShift, Helm
MLOps tools (MLflow, Kubeflow, Model Serving) and classic ML in production operation
Vector databases, embedding models, rerankers
Azure AI Foundry, AWS Bedrock, or Vertex AI
EU AI Act, ISO 27001, accessibility
Experience with railway companies, authorities, or social insurance providers
Prometheus and Grafana, ArgoCD, SAFe
