Key Accounts Manager (Petbarn)

Position Title: Key Accounts Manager – Petbarn (Australia) (Based in New Zealand) Department: Sales / Commercial Location: New Zealand (with frequent travel to Australia) Reports to: National Sales Manager Job Purpose: The Key Accounts Manager is responsible for managing and growing the Petbarn account across Australia, while being based in New Zealand. The role requires building strong partnerships with Petbarn’s commercial and operational teams, ensuring excellent execution of sales strategies and initiatives that drive business growth and profitability. Key responsibilities include: • Developing and implementing a comprehensive account plan to achieve revenue targets and grow the Petbarn business • Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders at Petbarn, including commercial and operational leaders • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective execution of sales strategies • Analyzing market trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities for growth and improvement • Providing regular reporting and insights to the National Sales Manager on account performance and business development initiatives. The ideal candidate will have: • A strong understanding of the pet industry, including Petbarn’s products and services • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Proven track record in sales or account management, preferably in the pet industry • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field • 3+ years’ experience in a similar role.
