Chance and Risk Manager

The realization of dike strengthening projects, such as the Meandering Maas or the IJsseldijk Zwolle-Olst, the realization of infrastructure projects like the ‘public transportation terminal Amsterdam Zuid’, the reorganization of the ‘Thorbeckeweg N516’ in Zaanstad or the widening and reconstruction of the A2 between junctions ‘Het Vonderen – Kerensheide’. These are all great projects where we are proud to be involved, and due to their complexity, there are enough opportunities or risks that arise. As a Chance and Risk Manager at Boskalis, you can make a difference by making these opportunities and risks transparent and manageable. You do this for complex projects with a large diversity of tasks and which often need to be completed under great time pressure. Threats to project goals and possibilities for optimizations: you are on top of it and ensure that others do the same too. You are involved in both the tender and execution phases of a project.

What you will do as Chance and Risk Manager

• In the tender phase, together with the team, make an assessment of all opportunities and risks. You map out what the impact is of the risks in terms of money, time, quality, environment, and safety.
• In the execution phase, together with the team, manage the risks.
• Organize chance- and risk-sessions within the team and with clients.
• Conduct conversations with key team members to get a clearer picture of opportunities, risks, and measures. You can listen well and ask follow-up questions to get a clear view.
• Update the opportunity- and risk-dossier.
• Respond to risk questions for tenders and projects in execution, whether requested or not.
• Review tender documents and prepare a project summary.

You can make a difference as Chance and Risk Manager if you bring the following

• A minimum of an HBO diploma in an economic or technical field.
• A minimum number of years of experience in a similar function as risk manager, a function as risk manager is a plus.
• You have demonstrable experience in analyzing situations and thinking up suitable solutions.
• You know how to inspire and motivate others to participate in initiatives, ideas, and consultations.
• You lay the connection and actively go for cooperation with others to create a foundation.
• Good command of the Dutch language.
