Calculator: Electric Vehicle Charging & Energy Infrastructure (m/f/d)
Job description
nanuq electrifies heavy-duty and fleet transport. We plan, build, and operate charging infrastructure for logistics and forwarding companies, from depots with four charging points to charging hubs with megawatt connections. This includes photovoltaics and battery storage, controlled via our own software platform arctiqOS. Our model: Truck Charging as a Service. The customer receives functioning charging infrastructure, and we handle planning, construction, operation, and financing.
We are growing rapidly, and with us, the number and size of projects. That's why we are looking for someone who can accurately calculate our bids and projects before they are submitted.
Responsibilities
- You will calculate our projects from the initial rough estimate in sales to the binding offer: civil engineering, electrical engineering, grid connection, hardware, assembly, commissioning
- You will create quantity surveys and specifications based on site plans, grid connection information, and needs assessments
- You will obtain sub-contractor and supplier quotes, compare them, and incorporate them into the calculation
- You will calculate the operator models: investment costs, operating costs over the term, charging prices, and economic viability for both the customer and us
- You will maintain and develop our calculation bases, i.e., price lists, effort values, cost benchmarks, and ensure they remain up-to-date
- You will calculate additional charges and changes during project execution
- You will work closely with sales, project management, and purchasing and will be the point of contact who determines if a figure is viable
- After implementation, you will review planned vs. actual figures and draw lessons for future calculations
Qualifications
- Completed vocational training or a degree in electrical engineering, civil engineering, industrial engineering, building services engineering, or a comparable qualification
- Several years of experience in calculating construction or electrical projects, preferably from plant construction, electrical trades, civil engineering, the energy industry, or from a general contractor
- Proficient in using specifications, quantity surveys, and VOB (Vergabe- und Vertragsordnung für Bauleistungen - German Construction Contract Procedures)
- You are proficient in Excel and can quickly learn new tools, including Odoo and Reonic at our company
- You think entrepreneurially and know that a calculation must not only be correct but also marketable
- You work in a structured and meticulous manner, even when three offers need to be submitted simultaneously
- Very good German language skills, good English language skills for communication with manufacturers and suppliers
Nice to have, but not essential
- Experience with charging infrastructure, photovoltaics, or battery storage
- Knowledge of grid connections, TAB (Technische Anschlussbedingungen - Technical Connection Conditions), and registration processes with the grid operator
- Experience with funding programs for charging infrastructure
- Experience with operator or contracting models
