Location: Kaikohe
Hours: Part time
Tenure: Permanent

As Kaiāwhina, you will:

• Support Kaiako with the planning, preparation and delivery of high-quality learning experiences for tauira.
• Assist with tauira recruitment, enrolment processes and maintaining accurate learner records.
• Prepare learning resources, teaching materials and classroom environments to support effective programme delivery.
• Provide pastoral and academic support to tauira, helping to promote engagement, retention and successful programme completion.
• Monitor attendance, following up learner absences and assisting with initiatives to improve tauira success.
• Support programme activities, including noho marae, wānanga and administrative processes that contribute to quality educational outcomes.

Mōu | About you

We are looking for someone who has the following:

• NCEA Level 2 (equivalent or higher) relevant qualification in Te Reo Māori preferred.
• Proficiency in Te Reo Māori both written and spoken.
• Experience in a support, education, administration or customer-focused role, ideally within a learning environment.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to connect positively with tauira and colleagues.
• A proactive, organised approach and a willingness to support a variety of programme activities.
• The ability to motivate, encourage and empower others to achieve their goals.
• A commitment to te ao Māori, tikanga Māori and the values of Te Wānanga o Aotearoa.
  

As a kaupapa Māori organisation, your willingness to participate in cultural activities and develop an understanding of Āhuatanga Māori (values, culture and tikanga) is desirable.
