Job description

Legal Officer Supervision & Enforcement (32-36 hours p/w)

Do you possess a healthy dose of courage? Do you see a challenge in solving legal cases and contributing to a safe and liveable Asten? Then the municipality of Asten is looking for you!

The municipality of Asten is an ambitious municipality, focused on the development of people and organization. We actively seek collaboration with society to effectively tackle shared challenges. This requires an environmentally aware, flexible, and customer-oriented attitude from us as an organization and from you as a potential employee of the municipality of Asten. Together, we determine success!

The Liveability, Enforcement, and Safety (LHV) team works daily to make Asten more beautiful, safer, and more liveable. Within the team, we are looking for an enforcement legal officer who can contribute to the execution of our repressive enforcement. This applies to public order, safety, and the physical spatial domain.

What will you do?
  • Drafting defense statements and representing (complex) objection, appeal, and further appeal proceedings;
  • Achieving quality improvement through the development of work processes and their implementation within LHV;
  • Developing ordinances, policy rules, and policy documents in the area of LHV (including the Implementation and Enforcement Strategy, the Implementation and Enforcement Program, and the evaluation report).
Who are you?
  • You have at least a relevant legal Bachelor's or Master's degree;
  • You have at least 2 years of demonstrable work experience in a comparable role;
  • You can handle work pressure well and have a high degree of self-reliance;
  • You can switch between multiple policy areas and diverse interests simultaneously;
  • A good political/administrative antenna is a plus;
  • You are customer- and results-oriented both internally and externally. Good service is a matter of course for you;
  • You possess excellent written and oral skills.
What can you expect from us?
  • A gross monthly salary of up to €5,624 (scale 10, Municipalities Collective Labour Agreement) based on a 36-hour work week; depending on education and experience, placement in an entry-level scale may be possible;
  • An individual choice budget of 17.05% of your salary. It's up to you how you use this budget;
  • A personal budget of €500 gross per year based on 36 hours;
  • A commuting allowance of €0.19 per km (capped at 50 km one way);
  • The possibility to work hybrid: location- and time-independent. We facilitate a good home office setup, laptop, and smartphone;
  • You have a broad range of tasks: an advantage of working in a compact municipality. You will work in an inspiring environment within an organization with short lines to the executive board, other teams, and external partners;
  • An active staff association that regularly organizes fun activities and outings.
