Job description

Before the first shift starts, you'll quickly go through the latest work order: has the permit been obtained, does the TRA check out, and is all the material ready? As a junior work preparer execution, you ensure that daily maintenance and standardized work run smoothly. You are the colleague who elaborates on plans, checks details, and prevents problems before they arise. Does this sound like your way of working? Then you'll fit right in with us.

What you will do

As a junior work preparer execution, you ensure that our mechanics can work safely and well-prepared on the railway. You will handle standardized work and use clear, proven methods to ensure every job runs smoothly. You start by analyzing the assignment: what needs to be done, what resources are needed, and what documents must be ready? You will elaborate this into clear work descriptions, (pre)calculations, and maintenance plans. You will prepare for safe working with risk analyses, TRAs, CROW-96b diversions, short-circuit plans, and V&G execution phase plans with RI&E, so that colleagues can work safely outdoors.

Then you will coordinate the planning with team leaders, project leaders, and operational colleagues. You will create short-term and detailed plans and draw up BLVC (Bouw, Logistiek, Veiligheid en Communicatie) plans for consultations with city districts. With interim reports, you will keep everyone informed of the progress. The administrative side is also part of your work: you order materials, create work orders, register consumption and hours in SAP, and neatly finalize each job administratively. You will assess additional and less work and ensure that invoices are correct before they are processed.

Finally, together with the team leader, you will monitor progress. Do you see a bottleneck? Then you will raise the alarm. You will have regular contact with project teams, contractors, suppliers, and authorities to ensure that work aligns well and can be executed safely.

What you bring

You work in a structured and accurate way, maintain an overview, and feel comfortable in an environment where work is done according to clear processes and procedures. At the same time, you are flexible and do not have a 9-to-5 mentality; you switch gears effortlessly when the work demands it.

Additionally, you have:

  • MBO-4 or HBO level, preferably in construction, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, or business administration with technical affinity;
  • affinity with public transport in the city;
  • the ability to work well with (ERP) systems and quickly master them;
  • the certifications suitable for the position or the willingness to obtain them;
  • Driver's license B to work on location (you will work both indoors and outdoors on location).

What you can count on

You take good care of our travelers, so we take good care of you. You will notice this in everything. We offer you:

  • A salary of at least €3,232,- and a maximum of €4,539,- gross based on a 36-hour week (scale 8).
  • A 13th month, 8% holiday pay, a 1.5% sustainable employability allowance, plus a well-arranged pension.
  • Free unlimited travel with GVB public transport.
  • You have an average of 21 days off per year, depending on your age, and you can buy extra vacation days through our cafeteria model. This keeps work and private life in good balance.
  • A contribution to health insurance of €84.91 per month.
  • You will have ample opportunities for further development and growth. With a permanent contract, we also offer the chance to obtain your HBO diploma.

Your team

You will work in a close-knit team with seven work preparers and two senior work preparers within Railinfra. Together, you support the railway factory and various projects. The atmosphere is open and involved: everyone helps each other, and for large projects or unexpected situations, you tackle them together. You work according to a fixed schedule, but when the work demands it, you are also available outside of standard hours.
