Junior Sommelier - Borgo Pignano Florence

Duties

• Assist in the care and updating of our diverse wine list, ensuring a selection of high-quality wines that integrate with our culinary offerings.
• Provide recommendations on wines to guests in a competent and friendly manner, improving their culinary experience through optimal food and wine pairings.
• Serve wine with precision and elegance, respecting established service standards and using the appropriate glassware.
• Maintain, in an optimal way, the organization and conditions of the cellar, ensuring the correct conservation and management of our collection.
• Perform regular inventory checks and assist in managing stock levels to minimize waste.
• Collaborate with restaurant and bar teams to create promotions, special offers, and themed events related to wine.
• Support pre-event wine sales for group events, weddings, and special culinary experiences.
• Participate in creating the wine menu to promote continuous improvement.
• Organize and conduct wine tastings and educational sessions for staff and guests.
• Assist in training restaurant and bar staff on wine knowledge, service techniques, and correct management.
• Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment, working closely with colleagues from the service and kitchen teams
• Enter accurate and up-to-date wine information into our POS system.
• Participate in daily briefings and food tastings to advise on optimal wine pairings.
• Provide valuable feedback on customer preferences and wine sales trends to support business growth.
