Junior Quality and Food Safety Administrator

Job description

The Junior Quality & Food Safety Administrator is responsible for establishing and implementing Quality Management and Food Safety Programs. The role includes monitoring these programs' performance and initiating continuous improvement initiatives. Responsibilities: Supplier Initiatives Support: Assess feasibility, host supplier audits, and initiate/monitor CAPA execution. Review and approve supplier-related documents with stakeholders. Collaborate with QC to review specifications from a quality and food safety perspective. Internal Programs Support: Assist in the maintenance and update of internal quality and food safety programs. Facilitate training sessions on quality and food safety topics. Monitor program performance through data analysis and reporting. Initiate and support continuous improvement projects. Assist with document control, ensuring all documents are current and readily available. Conduct internal audits to assess program effectiveness. Assist with regulatory compliance activities. Other Responsibilities: Support investigations of customer complaints, ensuring thorough investigation and effective corrective actions. Manage hold and release programs for raw materials, packaging, and finished products. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field. 1+ years of experience in quality and food safety within the food industry. Knowledge of food safety regulations (e.g., HACCP, GMP, FSMA). Experience with supplier management and auditing. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Desired Skills: Experience with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, BRC). Experience with root cause analysis methodologies. Experience with statistical process control.
