Will this be your new work environment?

How do you ensure that technical plans, different disciplines, and the interests of clients come together in one successful project? In this role, you will have the opportunity to gradually take responsibility for this. You will be working within an international engineering and consultancy organization that tackles issues in the areas of infrastructure, buildings, water, and the living environment.

The projects are diverse and require a combination of technical insight, organizational skills, and good communication. Think about improving infrastructure, making the built environment future-proof, and developing solutions that contribute to a sustainable living environment. Specialists with different backgrounds will collaborate to bring projects from the initial plans to final realization.

From Groningen, you will work together with experienced project managers, consultants, and technical specialists. You will be given the space to learn the trade in practice, build responsibility, and develop insight into the different phases of a project. You don't need to be able to do everything independently yet. What's more important is that you are curious, want to maintain an overview, and understand that good project results arise from clear agreements and collaboration.

This role is suitable for someone who wants to remain technically involved but also gets energy from organizing, coordinating, and thinking ahead. This is how you build a solid foundation for a further career in project management within construction, infrastructure, and technology.

This is what you will do

As a junior project manager, you will support the preparation, coordination, and control of projects. You will work closely with experienced project managers and gain insight into how projects are organized, monitored, and adjusted. You will maintain an overview of agreements, schedules, and progress, and ensure that information reaches the right people at the right time. As you gain more experience, you will be given the space to manage parts of projects with increasing independence.

In short:

  • You will support project managers in the preparation and execution of construction, infrastructure, or technical projects
  • You will assist in drawing up and monitoring project schedules, milestones, and action points
  • You will coordinate activities with consultants, engineers, designers, and other involved disciplines
  • You will monitor progress and identify deviations in schedule, budget, or agreements made in a timely manner
  • You will prepare project meetings and carefully record agreements, decisions, and action points
  • You will maintain contact with internal and external stakeholders and ensure clear information transfer
  • You will support the preparation of reports and the visualization of project results
  • You will contribute ideas on risks, bottlenecks, and practical solutions to keep projects manageable
  • You will assist in monitoring quality and ensure that agreements and procedures are followed
  • You will further develop your skills in project control, communication, and independently coordinating activities

This is who you are

  • You have completed an HBO (Bachelor's degree) in the direction of construction technology, civil engineering, technical business administration, or a comparable study
  • You preferably have some experience with projects in construction, infrastructure, technology, or the engineering world, for example, from an internship or entry-level position
  • You have an interest in project management and want to learn how technical projects are managed from preparation to completion
  • You can process information in a structured way and know how to distinguish between main and side issues
  • You communicate clearly and enjoy working with colleagues from different fields
  • You take initiative, ask questions when something is unclear, and take on tasks independently
  • You work accurately and pay attention to schedule, quality, budget, and agreements made
  • You are eager to learn and open to feedback from experienced colleagues
  • You can switch between different tasks well and maintain an overview even when busy
  • You have a good command of the Dutch language and can also express yourself in English when necessary

This is what you can expect from us

  • An above-market salary
  • 25 vacation days + ATV (reduction of working time) days in accordance with the company's CAO (Collective Labor Agreement)
  • A full-time employment contract with the possibility of part-time work as well
  • Secondary benefits such as a company car, phone, and laptop, flexible working hours, and remote work options are negotiable
  • A temporary contract with us, with the intention of converting it to a permanent contract directly with our client thereafter
  • Opportunities for further personal or technical development by following an additional course or training
