Junior Forward Deployed Engineer: Software Development & Applied AI (m/f/d)

Your Role

Have you completed your studies in Business Informatics or a related field and want to not only build software but also create impact directly for the client? Do you understand business processes as well as code and are eager to accompany AI solutions from the initial idea to productive deployment?

As a Junior Forward Deployed Engineer, you will work at the intersection of software development, applied AI, and consulting: you will be close to the client, understand their processes and data, develop suitable solutions, and bring them into productive operation. A portion of your time will also be dedicated to developing our own AI tools and products.

Tasks

Your Tasks

• Development of backend services, data pipelines, and AI agents in Python

• Implementation of frontends and internal tools with TypeScript and React

• Work with relational databases: data models, SQL, and data preparation

• Forward engineering at the client's site: gather requirements directly with the business departments, quickly build prototypes, and iteratively transfer them into productive solutions

• Integration of LLM APIs and AI agents into existing system landscapes (e.g., ERP, CRM, Power BI, Microsoft 365)

• Translation of business processes into technical concepts and data models

• Consulting component: co-design workshops at the client's site, present results, and align with stakeholders

• Responsibility for own work packages including tests, documentation, and code reviews

Qualifications

Your Profile

• Completed Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Informatics, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field

• Initial practical experience in software development, data, or IT consulting (e.g., as a working student, intern, or in a first permanent position)

• Good knowledge of Python and experience with TypeScript and React

• Proficient in SQL and relational databases

• Own projects beyond studies and work (e.g., tool, bot, web app), ideally in productive use

• Practical experience with AI models, LLM APIs, or AI-assisted development

• Good understanding of business contexts and business processes

• Very good German and good English skills, both written and spoken

• Strong communication skills, enjoyment of direct client contact, and a pronounced hands-on mentality
