Junior DevOps / Platform Engineer (m/w/d)

We are looking for a junior developer to join our team and contribute to the development of an existing AWS/EKS platform. You will work closely with experienced colleagues, learn "Production" standards (Observability, Security, IaC) and take over step-by-step your own topics that have a direct impact.

The existing platform in everyday life to operate reliably and continuously improve it together with the team: automation, secure defaults, clean deployments, and transparent operational key figures.

Aufgaben

Your tasks with support and mentoring:

• Participate in the operation of our AWS/EKS platform (e.g. tickets/incidents, small improvements, documentation/runbooks)
• Support for IaC (Terraform/OpenTofu): small changes, review feedback implement, modules/standards understand and expand
• Participate in deployments after EKS (Helm/Helmfile): values/overlays maintain, releases accompany, troubleshooting learn
• Support for Observability: dashboards maintain, alerts improve, first SLI/SLO ideas develop
• Participate in Security/Compliance topics (ISO 27001 Readiness): understandable changes, evidence/checks, access reviews according to process
• Optional (depending on interest): Windows/Entra ID topics support the team

Qualifikation

Qualification (Must-have)

• Basic understanding of Linux, networking basics and "how systems can fail in operation"
• First experience with Git and CI/CD (e.g. GitLab) or the motivation to learn quickly
• Interest in cloud/platform topics and pleasure in structured troubleshooting
• Good communication skills and willingness to document and ask questions

Nice to have - First experience with AWS and/or Kubernetes (EKS) – also from university/projects/home lab - Terraform/OpenTofu, Helm, Prometheus/Grafana, Ansible (each "basics are enough") - Interest in Security/Compliance (Least Privilege, Audits, Backups)
