(Junior) Data Engineer (m/f/d)

We are looking for you from immediately at one of our German locations in Munich, Nuremberg, Frankfurt am Main, Essen, Leipzig or Berlin!

Your Responsibilities

Are Data and AI your home? Your new challenge will be as follows:

• Collaboration with Data Architects, Business Analysts, and infrastructure teams to optimize and maintain complex ETL processes for efficient processing of large data volumes from various source systems
• Ensuring data quality, integration, and modeling within modern data engineering architectures such as SQL, relational databases (PostgreSQL, DB2, Oracle)
• Programming with Python, Scala, or Java, Git
• Performing performance tuning and error analysis for complex graphs and processes to stabilize production workflows
• Active involvement in projects related to Data Governance, Data Catalogs, and regulatory requirements (e.g., DORA)
• Documentation and presentation of technical solutions for internal and external stakeholders

Your Profile

Is Data in your DNA? This is what you should bring:

• Completed degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, STEM, or equivalent
• Fluent communication skills in German (C1) and English, as well as willingness to travel in the context of consulting activities
• First professional experience as a Data Engineer, Software Engineer, or in a similar field
• Strong consulting personality with the ability to safely guide clients through complex technical projects
• Experience in agile project environments and confident use of Jira, Confluence, or similar tools
• Understanding of metadata management, data lineage, catalogs, and data governance
• Analytical thinking, high quality orientation, and structured way of working
• Ability to quickly and independently learn new, complex technologies
• Entrepreneurial thinking with strong communication and teamwork skills for effective coordination with technical and business stakeholders

Nice to have:

• Knowledge in batch and streaming processing (e.g., Kafka, Spark) is advantageous
• Previous experience in regulated industries (Insurance, Banking, Statutory Health Insurance); DORA/VAIT
• Good knowledge of Unix/Linux and shell scripting
• Basic knowledge of Ab Initio, Collibra, or Databricks
• Cloud knowledge – Azure / Microsoft Fabric / OneLake
• IaC and CI/CD – Terraform, Azure DevOps, DEV/QS/PRD
• Experience with graphical ETL tools (Informatica, Talend, DataStage, SSIS)
