About Us

At VREY, we are building the EnergyOS for apartment buildings.

In Germany, there are over 3.3 million multi-party buildings – and they are the black hole of the energy transition.

At the same time, regulation is forcing owners into massive investments: solar will become mandatory, smart meters must be rolled out nationwide in the next 5 years, heating and mobility are electrifying. The apartment building is transforming from a golden brick into an active part of the decentralized energy infrastructure.

What's missing is an integrated system that makes this transformation economically and operationally manageable.

VREY combines certified metering point operation with its own software and enables owners for the first time to sell their self-generated solar power directly to their tenants – easily and without becoming an energy provider themselves (§42b EnWG).

This turns regulatory compulsion into a profitable and predictable opportunity:

• Double-digit returns and value appreciation for owners,

• ~20% electricity cost savings for tenants, and

• digital infrastructure for storage, heat pumps, and flexibility.

We are already managing a three-digit number of projects – including the largest property managers and housing cooperatives – in all 16 federal states. This makes us one of the leading providers in the market in a very short time.

As part of our seed funding, we have raised €3.3 million from leading impact and energy VCs (including Rubio Impact Ventures, HTGF, Kopa Ventures). With the fresh capital, we are entering our next growth phase and are strategically expanding our team.

Your Profile

• You already have initial experience in Consulting (Tier 1/Tier 2), High-Growth Start-ups (ideally in Operations or Process Optimization), or in Project Management and have completed a degree in a relevant field.

• Experience or strong interest in Data Analysis, Automation, and AI/LLM Agents (e.g., Python, APIs, handling large amounts of data)

• Very good understanding of numbers and data; enjoyment in systematically and data-drivenly tackling data quality issues

• Desire for in-depth understanding: You find it appealing to truly penetrate a complex, highly regulated field rather than optimizing superficially. Prior knowledge of the energy industry is a plus, but not a requirement – curiosity and speed of learning count more.

• Structured, conscientious way of working: you are not satisfied with "job completed" but check whether the result is substantively correct.

• Self-responsibility and ownership mentality: you take ownership of an area instead of just completing tasks; and strive to unfold your full potential in that area.

• You are deliberately not looking for a 9-to-5 job, but want to take responsibility in a fast-paced, founder-close environment, build structures, and actively shape growth.

• You are in Berlin (or willing to relocate) – our office is our home base.

• You speak German and English fluently

Your Tasks

Mission of the Role

You are at a business-critical interface: deeply involved in VREY's operational energy data business. With the mandate to fundamentally automate this business through your own data analyses, tools, and AI agents. You will see the immediate impact of your work – every solved energy data ticket brings a project closer to billing, every built agent saves the entire team time.

1. Automation through Data Analysis and Own AI Agents

• You analyze large amounts of data for patterns, outliers, and recurring causes of errors – and transform individual cases into systematic insights.

• You build AI agents that independently diagnose errors and suggest solutions or implement them directly.

• You are the technical driver of our internal metering point operation software: you identify from daily business what is missing, specify it, and integrate it into the product yourself.

2. Understanding and Operationally Solving Data Quality

• You ensure that our energy data is billable month after month – incomplete, contradictory, or delayed data from a complex market environment are transformed into reliable figures.

• You solve the cases yourself first, instead of delegating them: only those who know the causes of errors can automate them.

• You develop a deep understanding of a highly regulated field – we don't expect you to have it, but that you dive into it.

3. Ownership & Scaling of the MSB Area

• You are the central point of contact for all data-related matters – internally for project and billing teams, externally for grid operators and market partners – including prioritization, deadlines, and escalation.

• You build structure where today only individual people have experiential knowledge: documentation, clear processes, repeatable workflows.

• You train interns and working students and guide them to independence – your area grows with you.
