(Junior) Compliance Manager Geldwäsche / AML (m/w/d)

Location: Cologne | up to 4 days of home office possible

We are looking for a junior compliance manager to support an international financial services company with its headquarters in the heart of Cologne.

The position is targeted at candidates with approximately 2-4 years of experience in the AML/compliance field, who are eager to develop their skills and work on a group level.

Important beforehand:

This is not an operational AML role (no suspicious activity reports, no KYC daily business), but a conceptual, steering function with a focus on governance, standards, and international cooperation.

Tasks

AML Governance on a group level

• Development and maintenance of the group-wide AML framework
• Definition of standards, guidelines, and minimum requirements
• Alignment between central guidelines and local regulatory requirements in international companies

Monitoring & Reporting

• Establishment and further development of a group-wide monitoring approach
• Preparation and analysis of AML reports on a group level
• Follow-up on measures and optimizations

Risk Assessment

• Participation in the group-wide AML risk analysis
• Validation of local risk analyses
• Deduction of overarching measures for risk management

Sparring & Interface Work

• Point of contact for local compliance and AML functions
• Support in complex questions (e.g., new business models)
• Collaboration with compliance, risk, legal, and audit
• Preparation of decision-making bases for management

Qualification

YOUR PROFILE

• Studies in law, economics, or a comparable field
• About 2-4 years of experience in the AML, compliance, or risk field
• First contacts with governance, guidelines, or control systems are advantageous
• Very good German and good English
• Structured, conceptual working style and clear communication
