Junior AI Specialist - The Faculty

SmartCreative SRL is looking for a curious and brilliant mind to join our innovation team. We're not looking for a 'simple' developer, but someone with an insatiable hunger for technology who spends nights testing new libraries and sees Artificial Intelligence not as a buzzword, but as a universe of possibilities to explore. If you're the person who takes things apart to understand how they work? Have already tried creating a chatbot, generating images with Stable Diffusion or making a LLM write poetry? Then you might be exactly what we're looking for. You'll join a team where your creativity will be fundamental in transforming our clients' needs into innovative and concrete AI applications. You'll work closely with our senior developers (Frontend, Backend, and DevOps), who will guide you on an accelerated growth path. What will you do in concrete?

• You'll experiment and prototype: you'll be at the forefront of testing new AI models, APIs (OpenAI, Hugging Face, Anthropic, etc.) and frameworks to build rapid prototypes and proof-of-concepts.
• You'll integrate AI: you'll collaborate with the team to integrate AI solutions (e.g., language models, computer vision, etc.) within existing or new web and mobile applications.
• You'll develop solutions: you'll write code (mainly in Python) to pre-process data, fine-tune open-source models, and create the necessary APIs for AI to 'talk' with the rest of the world.
• You'll solve problems: you'll face complex challenges, debugging, optimizing performance, and finding creative solutions to problems that don't have an answer on Stack Overflow yet.
• You'll learn. A lot: you'll absorb knowledge from your more experienced colleagues, participating in code reviews and having access to training resources to stay up-to-date in a rapidly evolving field.

Who are we looking for? (The ideal 'tinkerer') We don't care about the piece of paper, but what you can do and your willingness to learn. Essential technical skills:

• Good knowledge of Python and its ecosystem (pip, virtual environments).
• Basic knowledge of Git and the workflow for managing code.
• Familiarity with the concept of REST API and how to interact with them.
• You've already 'played' with at least one of the main AI/ML frameworks (e.g., Transformers, PyTorch, TensorFlow, LangChain, Scikit-learn).

A great plus is: Knowledge base of

• Frontend: HTML, CSS, and a bit of JavaScript.
• Backend: familiarity with a web framework like Flask or FastAPI.
• Experience with Docker.
• A GitHub account or a portfolio with personal projects you can show us (even if 'broken' or incomplete, we love curiosity!).

We actively collaborate with partners and leading companies in Italy in various sectors, mainly education, and will be able to develop strong hard skills and soft skills.
