Youth Worker

For Municipality Goirle, we are looking for a Youth Worker. You will work as a passionate youth worker / youth coordinator for young people aged 12 and older in the villages of Goirle and Riel.
You make a difference for these young people by coaching them in discovering and developing their talents. In a creative way, you reach out to young people and actively seek contact with them on places where they are present, such as on the street and online.
You support young people in questions about work, school or other worries. You increase their chances of success by better guiding them in the step from school to work and help them keep a job that matches the School-to-Sustainable-Work Act.

This role is fully developing and together with colleagues and the project team, you will actively shape this role. You will work closely with the youth department of the municipality Goirle and with the organization Mainframe. You are the link between young people, their environment and chain partners such as the police.
You have genuine interest in the living world of young people and signal what's going on. You work together with neighborhood partners and build a trust-based relationship with young people, so you can bring up help requests to light.
You map complex themes, such as substance abuse, mental health and finances. When necessary, you refer young people to colleagues from the STAP team or the youth department.
In case of dropping out of school or work, you support young people in their return to school, a training or a suitable job and motivate them to do as much as possible on their own strength. You will work within a regional program together with schools and the transition point.
You know which local facilities are available and ensure a warm handover if necessary.
Besides that, you come up with and organize activities and initiatives that fit well into the living world of young people, together with the youth department and other colleagues from the SLT.

Your profile

• You possess an HBO work and thinking level, for example social work, social service or pedagogy.
• You are able to quickly adapt, creative and eager to learn.
• You have a SKJ registration.
• You have extensive experience within the youth work sector.
• You have a strong personality and know how to reach young people.
• You are flexible in terms of deployment; your work is irregular and can also take place in the evening hours.
