The role/Te mahi As a Joiner/Carpenter in our Trade Services team, you will deliver high-quality construction, joinery, and maintenance work across the University of Otago’s Dunedin campus and other properties. This includes but is not limited to: • Carrying out carpentry and joinery tasks as required • Maintaining and repairing existing structures and fixtures • Conducting site inspections and reporting on defects or issues • Collaborating with other tradespeople, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes • Participating in quality control processes to ensure work meets high standards • Developing and maintaining positive relationships with clients and colleagues. The ideal candidate will have: • A trade qualification in carpentry or joinery (or equivalent) • Strong communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Physical stamina and ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods • Familiarity with relevant health and safety regulations and procedures • Willingness to learn and adapt to new situations and technologies.
