We are looking for people to act as Data Engineers, to be the driving force behind a modernization project: the migration of our on-premise Data Warehouses to a modern data Lakehouse architecture in the cloud (Microsoft Azure).

In this role, you will work at the forefront of technical and functional mapping, building pipelines and patterns for reconstructing Silver and Gold layers and ensuring that the transition from legacy to Azure is smooth, performant, and governed.

Your daily responsibilities:

- Design and implement complex and scalable data architectures using Python/PySpark and SQL, ensuring high availability and low operational costs.

- Define the modeling patterns (Medallion Architecture) for the Lakehouse, ensuring that structures such as Star Schema and One Big Tables (OBTs) meet both technical performance and business needs.

- Establish and promote CI/CD practices, automated quality testing of data, and proactive cost and performance monitoring in the Databricks/Azure environment.

- Act as a focal point for resolving complex problems, mentoring less experienced professionals, and positively influencing the engineering culture within the team.

Skills and Qualifications we seek:

- Deep domain expertise in Databricks (Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, Workflows/Jobs, and Pipelines) and orchestrators like Azure Data Factory or Airflow.

- Experience in query optimization, Spark tuning, and manipulation of large data volumes.

- Proven ability to transform ambiguous business requirements into robust data models (Facts, Dimensions, and abstraction layers).

- Familiarity with good development practices (GitFlow, clean code, modularization, and design patterns).

- Ability to navigate high-uncertainty environments, refining processes, and translating executive needs into tangible technical solutions.
