Java Software Architect (m/w/d)

As a Java Software Architect, you will play a central role in shaping the future of our solutions. Together with your team, you are responsible for the architecture, design, and implementation of our products. In addition to your development tasks, you will provide technical guidance and support to the development team – including participation in product presentations, solution concepts, and commercial offers.

Aufgaben

• Understand functional and non-functional requirements, effort estimation, and ensuring that solutions meet quality and time constraints

• Definition and maintenance of the product architecture in close cooperation with other architects and a cross-location team in Munich and abroad

• Collaboration with Engineering, Product Management, and Business Analysts to further develop the product strategy

• Guidance for Scrum development and QA teams in implementing requirements into architecture, design, and implementation

• Participation in solution design in customer projects

• Evaluation of new technologies and tools in line with our technology roadmap

• Maintenance of architecture and coding guidelines to promote best practices and consistency

• Ensuring performance, scalability, security, usability, and maintainability of the solution

• Creation of Proof of Concepts (PoCs) for validating design decisions and assessing technical risks

• Technical leadership, code reviews, and ensuring high software quality

• Supporting the team in solving complex technical challenges

• Driving improvements in the software development process and promoting a culture of professionalism and continuous learning

Qualifikation

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field

• Passion for developing high-quality software

• Fundament knowledge in software architecture, object-oriented design, and error analysis of distributed multi-layered applications

• Solid understanding of agile development methods

• Excellent communication skills and experience working in international teams

• Teamwork ability and the ability to work independently towards common goals

• More than 10 years of experience with Java frameworks and tools

• More than 8 years of experience with the Spring Framework, used on application servers like WildFly or WebSphere

• In-depth knowledge of design patterns, component-based web frameworks (e.g. Wicket, Angular), web services (SOAP/REST), messaging systems (JMS, ActiveMQ, IBM MQ) and service-oriented architecture

• Strong expertise in unit and integration tests as well as corresponding tools

• Practical experience with version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps) and GitHub Copilot

• More than 5 years of experience with relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server) and ORM technologies (JPA, Hibernate), including SQL performance optimization
