Java Backend Developer

For the new construction of a full audit system for cost approvals in a client within an insurance company, we are looking for a Senior Backend Software Engineer. The new system is intended to meet the increasing number and complexity of requests for cost coverage. As part of a newly assembled team within an Agile Release Train, you will be involved in the green-field build-up from the beginning and will significantly shape the system.

Tasks

• Collaboration in the Scrum team as a backend developer in the green-field new construction of the full audit system

• Development of solution designs for new requirements

• Co-shaping and further development of the architecture of the new system and core applications

• Implementation according to company and team internal specifications (e.g., Definition of Done)

• Quality assurance including product regression

• Several years of experience in backend software development with Java/Jakarta, Kubernetes, and DevOps

• In-depth experience in Domain Driven Design and BPMN

• Frontend knowledge in Angular is an advantage

• Several years of domain experience in the health insurance environment, ideally with a good understanding of cost approvals and claims processing, is an advantage

• Motivation to further develop the architecture of the core applications with initiative, drive, and architectural thinking

• Willingness to acquire subject matter expertise and take on responsibility beyond pure implementation

• Enthusiasm for interdisciplinary analysis and design as a 'tech geek'

• Composure and calmness even in stressful situations

• Strong team skills and a lived Lean-Agile mindset according to SAFe

General Framework Conditions

• Start: Immediately

• Duration: Until the end of 2027 (option to extend)

• Workload: 80–100%

• Work location: Lucerne

• Remote: Max. 2–3 days per week (at 100% workload)
