IT-System Administrator / Stellvertretende IT-Fachbereichsleitung (m/w/d)

The XIAO Group is a mid-sized, family-owned company in the real estate and gastronomy industries with headquarters in Gelsenkirchen and Leverkusen. Our property portfolio is continuously growing through the development of new projects and targeted acquisitions. It exclusively includes commercial properties in NRW, which are built for multi-storey office, fitness, and other commercial uses.

Every year, we welcome around 2 million guests to our XIAO restaurants and achieve a turnover of approximately 65 million EUR. Our nearly 1,000 employees drive the expansion in the gastronomy industry forward with great passion and commitment. We have ambitious future plans and want to continue the strong growth of recent years by doubling our gastronomy turnover over the next three years and realizing investments primarily in real estate worth 40 million EUR.

We are looking for a IT-System Administrator / Stellvertretende IT-Fachbereichsleitung (m/w/d) in full-time or part-time capacity.

Your role with us:

As an IT-System Administrator / Stellvertretende IT-Fachbereichsleitung (m/w/d), you will take on a versatile key role in our IT team. You will ensure, together with the IT department head, a stable, secure, and future-proof operation of our IT infrastructure and represent this at the absence of the department head both technically and organizationally. You will work generalistically across various IT topics, coordinate operational tasks, and shape the further development of our systems and processes actively. The position is not associated with disciplinary personnel responsibility.

Your tasks:

• You will administer, maintain, and develop our IT infrastructure in gastronomic businesses and administrative units, including network, cloud, and workstation environments.

• You will ensure, together with the IT department head, a secure, stable, and available operation of the IT systems and provide for a comprehensible documentation.

• You will take over, in absence of the department head, the technical and organizational representation of the IT department and coordinate ongoing tasks, priorities, and external service providers.

• You will manage our network environment based on Ubiquiti UniFi as well as firewalls, internet connections, and cross-location IT components.

• You will manage our client and workstation systems under Windows and macOS, user software, communication solutions, notebooks, smartphones, and tablets.

• You will administer user accounts, authorizations, devices, and access in our cloud-based IT systems and support the maintenance of our Microsoft-365 environment.

• You will control the provision of all IT equipment from planning and procurement to installation and documented return.

• You will analyze and resolve issues, perform maintenance and optimization, and develop sustainable solutions for recurring technical problems.

• You will ensure the stability of our operational systems, particularly cash register, payment, accounting, reservation, and order systems, and support their introduction and further development.

• You will participate in IT projects, digitalization, AI, and automation initiatives and bring your own improvement suggestions forward.

• You will support and train employees on technical systems and software solutions and serve as a service-oriented point of contact for departments and restaurants.

• You will coordinate external IT service providers as needed and occasionally be present at our further locations in NRW.

• You have completed an apprenticeship or degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.

• You have several years of experience in system administration and feel comfortable in a generalist IT role with a broad range of tasks.

• You possess good knowledge in the areas of network administration, IT security, firewalls, device management, as well as Windows and ideally macOS environments.

• Experience with Microsoft 365, for example Entra ID, Exchange Online, SharePoint, Intune or Defender, is advantageous but not a requirement for specialization.

• You work independently, structured, and solution-oriented, set sensible priorities, and maintain an overview even when dealing with parallel demands.

• You take on responsibility, can coordinate tasks and service providers, and appear confidently and professionally towards different contact partners.

• You are characterized by teamwork, a high level of service orientation, and clear, target-oriented communication.

• You are willing to participate in a regular call-up duty and occasionally take on business trips to our restaurants.

• You possess a class B driver's license.
