IT System Administrator
Job description
We are a owner-managed IT system house in Chemnitz and have been supporting the IT of business customers since 2016 – from workstations to Microsoft 365 and servers to networks, security, and cloud.
We are looking for someone for the first and second level support of our customers. Not as a permanent position at the bottom of a support pyramid, but as an entry point from which your own customers and your own specialized topics should develop in the coming years.
What this job is, is listed below. What it is not, is also listed.
Tasks
- You accept disturbances from our business customers – by phone, by remote support, and if necessary, on-site at the customer's premises.
- You independently analyze, prioritize, and resolve: workstations, Windows clients and servers, Microsoft 365, users and permissions, networks, printers, software, other infrastructure.
- You document comprehensibly in the ticket system. Not for statistics, but so that the colleague after you doesn't start from scratch.
- You communicate with users who are not IT people – understandably and without making them feel stupid.
- If you can't make progress, you escalate to our engineers. But completely: error description, your analysis, what you have already tried.
How this develops
For us, first level is not an end state.
The more confident you become in a topic, the more of it you will get. Specifically, this means: first individual second-level topics, then responsibility for fixed customers, then your own technical focus – for example, network, Microsoft 365, servers, firewall, or cloud.
How quickly this happens depends on you, not on a promotion level in the organizational chart. Those who work reliably get more scope for decision-making with us, not more control. Which further training you undertake, we will discuss based on need and interest, not according to a catalog.
Qualification
- Completed training in the IT field, e.g., as a specialist in system integration (m/f/d) – or comparable practical professional experience.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft environments: Windows clients and servers, Microsoft 365.
- A solid basic understanding of networks: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLAN, VPN.
- Structured error analysis. You don't guess, you narrow down.
- Class B driver's license for customer assignments.
Advantageous, but not a requirement:
Experience with ticket systems, remote support, and user and rights management; knowledge of firewalls, virtualization, backup, monitoring, or cloud.
What we explicitly do not require:
A long list of certifications. We are interested in whether you can clearly define a problem and whether you say when you don't know something. Both can be clarified more quickly in a conversation than through abbreviations on a resume.
Benefits
Development instead of stagnation:
With growing competence, you will take on more demanding tasks, your own customers, and your own technical focus.
Decisions without detours:
If you want to change something, you speak directly with management. Not with three intermediate instances.
Further training according to your needs:
individually tailored, not as a mandatory program.
Company car or JobRad by agreement.
Flexible working hours. We handle individual situations individually, not according to a standard procedure.
Different customers and IT environments instead of a single infrastructure that you know by heart after two years.
IT-High-Systems Technology GmbH is an owner-managed IT system house from Chemnitz. Since 2016, we have been supporting business customers in the setup, operation, and further development of their IT infrastructure. Over the years, classic IT support has evolved into a portfolio of managed services, cloud solutions, IT security, communication, and holistic infrastructure support.
Our claim: IT that relieves our customers of work, instead of creating new problems. For us, technology is not an end in itself. Our solutions should be secure, reliable, and understandable for users.
Internally, we work according to the same standards: honesty, reliability, responsibility. Problems are addressed openly. Processes do not arise exclusively from above – those who see potential for improvement work on the solution.
