IT System Administrator - Datacenter & Infrastructure (m/f/d)

For our growing team at the Karlsruhe location, we are looking for you full-time (40h) and with a permanent contract as an IT System Administrator - Datacenter & Infrastructure (m/f/d).

• You independently analyze complex faults in the IT infrastructure, sustainably identify their causes, and ensure structured resolution across system and location boundaries.
• You operate, monitor, and further develop our network landscape at our locations, and are responsible for LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN, and site interconnectivity.
• You administer and optimize central data center components such as firewalls, storage, backup and switch systems, as well as other infrastructure services.
• You plan and implement capacity, availability, and lifecycle measures and ensure that our infrastructure scales reliably with business growth.
• You actively contribute to designing new, secure, and standardized infrastructure solutions for new locations, expansions, and modernization projects.
• You support high-performance specialized and high-performance workstations in close cooperation with IT Support and the specialist departments, and maintain structured documentation as well as tracking changes, problems, and technical tasks in Jira Service Management.

• You have completed IT training, for example as a specialist in system integration, an IT degree, or a comparable qualification, acquired through relevant professional experience.
• You have 5 to 8 years of professional experience in the administration and operation of complex IT infrastructures.
• You have in-depth knowledge of network technologies such as TCP/IP, VLAN, routing, switching, WLAN, WAN, VPN, DNS, and DHCP, as well as in the administration of Windows-based IT infrastructures.
• You have practical experience with several of the following technologies and solutions: Firewalls, Microsoft Entra ID, storage systems, backup solutions, and PowerShell.
• You have experience in cross-system fault analysis, root cause identification, and the operation of secure, cross-site infrastructures.
• You work analytically, solution-oriented, and independently, document technical issues in a structured manner, and have experience with IT Service Management processes.
• You communicate clearly and professionally, work constructively with internal and external stakeholders, are willing to undertake planned assignments at external sites and in the data center, and have very good German and good English skills, both written and spoken.
