An organization with thousands of users and a complex, location-spanning IT infrastructure is seeking an IT-System Engineer with focus on Storage and Virtualization.

Aufgaben

You will be responsible for the operation, development, and security of central infrastructure components:

• Installation, Administration, Operation, and Optimization of

1. Storage-Systemen
2. SAN-Systemen
3. Backup- und Archivierungssystemen
4. Virtualisierungsumgebungen for Servers and Desktops (VMware vSphere)

• Konzeption, Planung, and Implementation of IT-Projekten in the area of Storage, Backup, and Virtualization
• Development and Implementation of Notfall- und Wiederanlaufkonzepten
• Operation and Development of the zentralen Virtualisierungsplattform
• Analyse and Troubleshooting of Störungen in komplexen, vernetzten, and standortübergreifenden IT-Systemen
• Creation of Skripten with high functionality for Automation and Optimization

Qualifikation

• Completed studies in Computer Science or completed training as Fachinformatiker (Systemintegration) with several years of professional experience
• Very good knowledge in:

1. Storage-Systemen (e.g. HPE, NetApp)
2. Backup-Lösungen (e.g. Veeam)
3. Virtualisierung (VMware, ideally also Proxmox)

• Good knowledge in the Administration von Windows- und Linux-Systemen
• Konzeptionelle and planerische Fähigkeiten as well as experience in Fehleranalyse und Prävention
• Knowledge in the area of Server-Hardware (especially HPE) is advantageous
• Basic knowledge in adjacent areas such as Netzwerk, IT-Security (Firewall, IDS) and Performance-Monitoring is desirable
• Very good Deutschkenntnisse (C2) as well as good Englischkenntnisses
• Analytical, structured, and independent working style
• High sense of responsibility, team ability, and strong service-oriented mindset
• Knowledge in IT-Security und Datenschutz in the infrastructure area is advantageous
