Job description
Frankfurt/M Region · Full-time & Permanent · €48,000–€60,000 gross/year
Are you at home in IT, have a connection to the Unix/Linux-based web world, use Apple systems yourself for it, and want to manage and actively develop a workplace infrastructure?
For our client, a modern and strongly growing digital agency in the Frankfurt area, we are looking for reinforcement for the broadly positioned IT team. A versatile role awaits you, combining personal support, system administration for Apple & Web systems (Linux, Docker), IT security, and the setup of professional device management (MDM).
So, it's not a pure Apple support job, but a mix of workplace support and assistance to the IT team in the otherwise Linux-based infrastructure, which is used by developers with Macs, for example.
About the company behind it
Our client has been developing digital products and platforms for renowned customers for many years. Around 100 employees from design, user experience, software development, project management, and other disciplines work together here on sophisticated digital solutions.
The agency combines the dynamism of a creative technology company with stable structures, short decision-making paths, and an open, family-like work culture. Instead of anonymous corporate IT, you can expect an environment where you know the people behind the support requests and can quickly implement improvements.
The position is newly created to expand the existing IT team. This gives you the opportunity to build your own areas of responsibility and actively shape the future IT landscape.
The current IT environment:
Apple Ecosystem · Linux • Google Workspace · Microsoft Azure · pfSense · UniFi · Synology · Apache
An MDM solution is not yet in use, but it is planned to be introduced in the foreseeable future. If you already have experience in this area, you can help select, set up, and establish the solution from the beginning.
Responsibilities
Your Role
Together with a team of 3 other colleagues, you will manage the entire internal IT.
The topics you take on will depend on your experience and strengths. We are not looking for a rigid profile, but a person who complements the existing team technically and gradually takes responsibility for their own areas.
The focus is on IT support and administration of a predominantly Apple-based workplace environment. Unix/Linux knowledge to support developers is desired, and you should already have concrete experience with Docker.
Your tasks...
You will support around 100 employees with technical questions – personally, clearly, and solution-oriented.
You will administer a device environment with approximately 120 MacBooks, 40 iPhones, 10 iPads, and a few Android test devices.
You will manage the entire device lifecycle from procurement and setup to return and reuse.
You will manage onboarding and offboarding and administer user accounts, access rights, and SaaS applications.
You will develop standards for a secure and reliable macOS work environment.
You will actively participate in the selection and introduction of a future MDM solution.
Together with the team, you will manage network, firewall, Wi-Fi, storage, and backup systems.
You will document systems and processes so that knowledge remains understandable and available within the team.
You will automate recurring processes and further develop existing IT processes.
You will coordinate external service providers in the areas of hosting, telecommunications, and tooling.
You will provide support on IT security topics and, if necessary, work on measures related to ISMS and ISO 27001.
Qualifications
What you ideally bring...
Several years of experience in IT support and in the administration of workplace and system environments
Knowledge of Unix/Linux and specifically experience with Docker
Experience with the Apple ecosystem (macOS, iOS)
You may already be familiar with an MDM system from your own practice (JAMF, Intune, etc.)
Enjoy supporting people with technical questions
A structured, independent, and reliable way of working
The ability to explain technical contexts in an understandable way
A good understanding of IT security and clean authorization concepts
Interest in improving existing structures and independently building new areas
An IT education, a degree in computer science or business informatics, or a comparable practical qualification
Willingness to work in the office 3 days a week (the rest remotely)
German language skills are preferred, as well as good English skills, as there are numerous purely English-speaking employees. If you are a particularly good technical fit for the position, an English-speaking profile might also be considered.
A big plus would be...
Knowledge in network administration, firewalls, Wi-Fi, switching, routing, or VLANs
Experience with Google Workspace, Microsoft Azure, or the administration of SaaS applications
Knowledge of backup, disaster recovery, or storage systems
Exposure to ISMS or ISO 27001
You don't have to master every technology in depth yet. What matters is a solid IT foundation, a willingness to learn, and the desire to take responsibility.
Benefits
What you can look forward to...
An annual salary of €48,000 to €60,000 gross, depending on your experience
A permanent full-time position with 40 hours per week
Plenty of scope for development in a growing internal IT department
A newly created role with development opportunities and your own areas of responsibility
Direct communication and short decision-making processes
A family-friendly and officially recognized work environment
Regulated compensatory time off for overtime
A personal training budget and three additional training days per year
Discounted access to a nationwide sports and health network
A modernly equipped office, health offerings, and regular team events
An open feedback culture and a dedicated People & Culture team

If so, get in touch with us now – then we can tell you more about this exciting position and you can decide at your leisure if it would be a great option for you.

We are very much looking forward to hearing from you!
