HITS.NRW is a newly founded, central IT service provider for public universities in North Rhine-Westphalia.

Our mission: Together with the Fachhochschulen, shape the future of university IT. To achieve this, we develop scalable services from the areas of Cloud, Cyber Security, Software, and IT Procurement. We ensure modern, secure, and efficient solutions – so that universities can focus on teaching, art, and science, and sensitive data are protected to the best possible extent.

What awaits you

As an addition to our IAM team, you will be directly involved in scaling our services for the art and music universities in NRW:

• Joint rollout: You accompany the introduction and expansion of the IAM system specifically for the art and music universities in NRW.
• Teamwork & Expertise: You work closely with your colleague in the IAM environment, stand in intense professional exchange, and ensure stable operation through mutual backup.
• Process design: You help harmonize the identity workflows of the various institutions and convert them into automated processes.
• Application management: You support the technical connection of target systems (e.g. library or campus management systems) via LDAP, SAML, or OIDC.
• Interface: You are a competent contact person for IT representatives on site and support them in integrating their local services.

What you bring

• A completed degree (e.g. Computer Science, Business Informatics) or equivalent IT training with comprehensive practical experience
• Experience in identity and access management, particularly in dealing with identity services like Active Directory or OpenLDAP, as well as understanding of authorization concepts
• Strong technical interest and secure work in Linux environments, as well as motivation to deeply engage with protocols like SAML and OIDC
• A strong sense of cooperation and joy in constructive collaboration within the team, as well as at interfaces to universities
• A structured, conscientious working style and the ability to maintain an overview even when dealing with parallel projects and multiple locations
