As an IT Specialist Intern, you will gain practical experience in supporting and improving the IT systems that keep our growing team connected and productive. From solving everyday technical challenges and managing digital tools to IT onboarding – you will gain valuable insights into IT operations in a fast-growing deep-tech environment.

You will work closely with our IT team and colleagues across the company, assisting in the maintenance of our platforms, supporting users on Windows, macOS, and Linux, and contributing to building a secure, scalable, and future-proof IT environment. You will have the opportunity to take on tasks independently, develop technical skills, and make a real impact from day one.

Who we are

Founded in 2022 as a spin-off from TU Munich, QD uses quantum sensors to rapidly detect three-dimensional current distributions in multilayer chips. Our international team of over 70 employees – including physicists, engineers, data scientists, and other specialists – works side-by-side with major semiconductor industry manufacturers to support chip debugging and accelerate yield analysis. Supported by leading deep-tech investors, semiconductor experts, and strategic public programs, we have secured long-term stability – and are shaping the next chapter in chip testing.

What you will do

• Develop and improve a future-proof IT environment.

• Manage and maintain our platforms (e.g., Microsoft 365, Microsoft AD DS, and other tools).

• Support and resolve hardware and software issues within the company on Windows, macOS, and Linux.

• Maintain and update system configurations to ensure optimal performance and security.

• Coordinate escalated issues with external partners.

• Assist with IT onboarding/offboarding processes (e.g., setting up new users, managing permissions).

• Internal documentation of IT infrastructure, processes, and problem solutions.

What we expect from you

• Solid knowledge of Windows and macOS, initial experience with Linux

• Interest in Microsoft 365, IT administration in the cloud and on-premises

• Basics in networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs)

• Customer-oriented approach to IT problems

• Very good English and German language skills

Nice to have:

• Experience in automating recurring tasks

• Experience with Docker or self-hosting web applications

• Scripting in PowerShell, Bash, or Python

• Structured and traceable documentation of system configurations and processes

• Fast, effective response to company IT-related issues

• Clear communication of technical content to non-technical team members

• Discretion and confidentiality when accessing sensitive systems and accounts
