IT Solution Architect / IT Inhouse Consultant – Microsoft (m/f/d)

For a company with over 14,000 employees and more than 1,000 locations in five countries – headquarters in the eastern Ruhr area – I am looking for the first dedicated architecture role in the IT Systems team. Architectural responsibility has so far rested with management – now it gets its own face: yours. You will become the link between the business department and implementation. The environment is moving towards Cloud First: Azure and Microsoft 365 are the focus, and you will have a say in what moves there and when. You are less of a draftsman at the drawing board here and more of a structural engineer on the construction site – your concepts must hold, and you will also lend a hand yourself.

IMPORTANT: 100% Remote after a 3-6 month onboarding in Unna!

Your Tasks

• Solutions from A to Z: You will gather business requirements, jointly develop solution concepts with the team, and accompany them through to stable operation.

• Shaping Cloud First: You will play a leading role in further developing Azure, M365, and hybrid identity – and you will think about which path is realistic to get there.

• Weighing Options: You will examine solution paths with regard to security, scalability, cost-effectiveness, and operability, and document decisions in a comprehensible manner.

• Implementing and Passing On: You will help build new topics yourself, rather than just conceptualizing them, and you will bring the six-person team along with you.

Your Profile

• Microsoft Cloud in Everyday Life: You have been working with Azure and M365 for several years – Identity, Collaboration, Endpoint – and have already accompanied migrations from on-premises environments.

• Breadth Instead of Silo: You are knowledgeable in several areas – infrastructure, network, IT security, IAM, Modern Workplace, or site-related IT. No one knows everything, and onboarding time is planned for the rest.

• Pragmatic Instead of Dogmatic: You will consider viable interim steps rather than focusing solely on the target state, and you will advance new topics, even if you are the first to tackle them.

• Strong Communication Skills: You translate between technology and business, gain stakeholders without direct authority, and enjoy working agilely – SAFe experience is welcome, but not a requirement.

• Language Requirements: You have excellent German language skills and good English language skills; even though German is primarily spoken today, English will become increasingly important in the future with a view to company growth.
