IT Software Engineer (m/w/x)

The REWE digital Austria GmbH is responsible for the development and maintenance of POS solutions (software for attended cash registers, Mobile Check Out, Self Check Out, Mobile Payment or payment with cash devices, etc.) for the REWE Group. We are responsible for the entire software development process from consulting and conception to technical implementation as well as testing/quality assurance and support, and we work primarily agile. Development of cash-oriented software applications that interact with various hardware components such as barcode scanners, printers, and scales. The software must be able to handle a wide range of products, including food, beverages, and non-food items. We are looking for an IT Software Engineer (m/w/x) who can contribute to the development of innovative POS solutions. Key responsibilities include: Designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software applications; Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize requirements; Developing and implementing software architectures; Ensuring high-quality software products through thorough testing and quality assurance processes; Providing technical support for existing software systems; Staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in the field of POS solutions. The ideal candidate should have: Strong programming skills in languages such as Java, C#, or Python; Experience with agile development methodologies; Knowledge of software development life cycles and testing procedures; Familiarity with database management systems such as MySQL or Oracle; Understanding of cloud-based services like AWS or Azure; Certification in Scrum Master or similar is a plus.
