IT Software Asset & License Manager (m/w/d)

Cologne | hybrid | up to approx. €85,000

Software licenses have long been a strategic cost and compliance factor for companies. For an internationally active financial services company based in Cologne, I am looking for a person who develops and structurally builds up the group-wide Software Asset Management (SAM).

In this role, you ensure that software licenses are managed transparently, costs are optimized and compliance requirements are met. You work closely with IT, purchasing and specialist departments and operate at the interface between technology, governance and economic efficiency.

Tasks

Your tasks

Develop Software Asset Management

• Establishment and further development of group-wide Software Asset Management
• Development and maintenance of guidelines, processes and standards in license management

Manage costs and usage

• Analysis of license models and license volumes
• Identification of optimization potential for software costs
• Ensuring compliance in dealing with software licenses

Interface between IT, purchasing and specialist departments

• Advising internal stakeholders on license models and license strategies
• Support in contract reviews and license negotiations

Transparency and reporting

• Establishment of structured license and usage reporting
• Derivation of recommendations for action for management and IT

Tools and systems

• Support in the selection and implementation of a Software Asset Management Tool
• Establishment of sustainable processes for license management and compliance

Qualification

Your profile

• Degree in business informatics, business administration or comparable qualification
• Experience in license management, software asset management or IT procurement
• Knowledge of common license models (e.g. Microsoft, Oracle, Adobe or similar)
• Ideally, experience with SAM tools or ITSM systems
• Analytical and structured way of working
• Very good German and good English skills
