IT Security Engineer (m/f/d)

Introduction

For a company in the insurance industry in the North Germany region, we are looking for an IT Security Engineer (m/f/d) for permanent employment.

In this role, you will take responsibility for the security and efficiency of data exchange as well as the protection of sensitive information in a dynamic environment.
Your Tasks

• Further development and operation of the SOC/SIEM: Connecting new systems, reviewing automatic attack detection, and adapting rules to current threat landscapes
• Further development of vulnerability management: Connecting new systems, evaluating scan results, and participating in the remediation of vulnerabilities
• Active monitoring of IT security: Analyzing security information, scan results, and reports from security appliances for early risk minimization
• Investigation of security incidents: Conducting analyses, recommending countermeasures, and supporting implementation in collaboration with internal and external teams
• Organization and execution of external penetration tests: Planning, coordinating, and technically evaluating results, as well as supporting the implementation of measures
• Conducting internal penetration tests: Technically evaluating results and supporting teams in implementing derived measures

Your Profile

• Completed technical degree in Computer Science, IT Security, or Business Informatics
• Sound professional experience in IT security, ideally in the insurance industry
• Several years of experience in IT operations or software development with a focus on IT security solutions
• In-depth understanding of security topics and experience with modern system components such as cloud technologies (e.g., OpenShift or containerization)
• Independent, structured, and solution-oriented working style with high initiative
• Strong communication skills and team orientation as an interdisciplinary interface
