IT Security Engineer (m/f/d)

Introduction

For a company in the insurance industry in the North Germany region, we are looking for an IT Security Engineer (m/f/d) for permanent employment.

In this role, you will take responsibility for the security and efficiency of data exchange as well as the protection of sensitive information in a dynamic environment.
Your Tasks

• Further development and operation of SOC/SIEM: Connection of new systems, review of automatic attack detection and adaptation of rules to current threat landscapes
• Further development of vulnerability management: Connection of new systems, evaluation of scan results and participation in vulnerability remediation
• Active monitoring of IT security: Analysis of security information, scan results and reports from security appliances for early risk mitigation
• Investigation of security incidents: Conducting analyses, recommending countermeasures and accompanying implementation in cooperation with internal and external teams
• Organization and execution of external penetration tests: Planning, coordination and technical evaluation of results as well as support in implementing measures
• Execution of internal penetration tests: Technical evaluation of results and support for teams in implementing derived measures

Your Profile

• Completed technical degree in Computer Science, IT Security, or Business Informatics
• Sound professional experience in IT Security, ideally in the insurance industry
• Several years of experience in IT operations or software development with a focus on IT security solutions
• In-depth understanding of security topics and experience with modern system components such as cloud technologies (e.g., OpenShift or containerization)
• Independent, structured, and solution-oriented way of working with high initiative
• Strong communication skills and team orientation as an interdisciplinary interface
