IT Security Consultant / Technical Lead (m/f/d)

We are looking for an experienced IT Security Consultant as Technical Lead (m/f/d) with a focus on Fortinet and Palo Alto Networks. You will assume technical responsibility for demanding customer projects – from architecture planning through implementation to structured handover to operations.

Your Responsibilities

• Security Architectures: Conception and design of modern network and security architectures for customers from the mid-sized to enterprise segment.

• Technical Leadership: Technical leadership of demanding customer projects as well as responsibility for architectural decisions, technical standards, and solution designs.

• Fortinet & Palo Alto Networks: Planning, implementation, and optimization of high-performance next-generation firewall solutions and modern network security concepts.

• Project Implementation: Technical realization of complex security projects – from requirements analysis through design and migration to go-live.

• Network Design: Development of secure network architectures with routing, switching, VLANs, VPN, BGP, OSPF, segmentation, and high availability.

• Operations Handover: Structured handover of implemented solutions to operational use, including technical documentation, operational concepts, and knowledge transfer.

• Technical Consulting: Advising our customers on architectural decisions, the further development of existing infrastructures, and the implementation of security best practices.

• Quality Assurance: Ensuring the technical quality, scalability, security, and sustainable operability of the implemented solutions.

What You Bring

• At least 6 years of professional experience in IT Security, Network Security, or Security Consulting with deep technical expertise.

• Sound practical experience with the security technologies from Fortinet and Palo Alto Networks.

• Relevant vendor certifications from Fortinet and/or Palo Alto Networks, ideally at an advanced technical level.

• Very good network knowledge in TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, VPN, BGP, OSPF, DNS, network segmentation, and high availability.

• Experience in the conception and implementation of complex security architectures for mid-sized and enterprise customers.

• Proven experience in technical leadership and implementation of IT security projects is preferred.

• Understanding of the entire project lifecycle – from planning through implementation to operations handover.

• Analytical thinking, structured working method, and enjoyment of complex technical challenges.

• Strong communication skills, self-responsibility, and a professional demeanor towards customers and project teams.

• On-site assignments at customer locations, sometimes internationally.

• Very good German and good English skills, both written and spoken.
