IT Rollout/ Data Center Technician

We are looking for several IT Technicians (m/w/d) for a large-scale hardware rollout project in the data center environment. The focus is on preparing, transporting, and installing server and storage systems in a highly available infrastructure.

Tasks

• Preliminary preparation, staging, and basic configuration of new hardware at the project site
• Unpacking, inventorying, and technical first inspection of the systems
• Assignment of management IP addresses and initialization of devices
• Triggering automated operating system installations according to specifications
• Safe packaging and support during internal transportation of the systems
• Faultless installation of servers, storage, and network components in the data center
• Execution of rack & stack tasks taking into account redundancy, load distribution, and air flow
• Structured cabling of copper and fiber optic connections according to patch plans
• Labeling, labeling, and documentation of components, ports, and cable routes
• Support during disassembly, packaging disposal, and material logistics
• Close coordination with project leadership, network, and infrastructure teams

Qualification

• Experience in hardware rollout, data center deployment, or IT infrastructure projects
• Good knowledge of enterprise hardware from Dell, HPE, Lenovo, or similar manufacturers (Dell Technologies Hewlett Packard Enterprise Lenovo)
• Experience with rack systems, PDUs, cable management, and data center processes
• Fundamental knowledge of networks and IP addressing
• Experience with management interfaces such as iDRAC, iLO, or IPMI (iDRAC HPE iLO)
• Knowledge in laying and handling copper and fiber optic cables
• High precision, accuracy, and quality awareness
• Physical stamina for activities in the data center (lifting/moving hardware under work safety guidelines)
• Structured, reliable, and team-oriented working style
• Very good German language skills and basic English language skills
• A valid Class B driver's license is required
• A clean police certificate of conduct is required
