IT Operations Engineer (f/m/d)

We are looking for an experienced IT Operations Engineer (m/f/d) who will support us in managing and improving our distributed systems and automation pipelines. You will manage high-availability infrastructure, implement new solutions, and work with colleagues in Munich, Regensburg, and Bucharest. This position offers the opportunity to develop deeper knowledge of Linux, automation, and high-availability environments.

Our OPS team is spread across three main locations – Munich, Regensburg, and Bucharest – and works closely with other teams within the IONOS group. We manage a diverse and modern tech stack, including Kubernetes, Proxmox, Ansible, and databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB. Aufgaben

• Management of Debian Linux server systems and operation of high-availability environments.
• Adaptation and management of HA solutions, storage systems, and virtualization technologies.
• Monitoring of servers and services to ensure stability and performance.
• Automation of administrative tasks and deployments using Ansible, GitLab pipelines, and Kubernetes.
• Support for main customers' services and participation in a rotating on-call duty.
• Collaboration with teams in Munich, Regensburg, and Bucharest to maintain service quality and reliability.

Qualifikationen

• 2-4 years of experience with Linux systems (preferably Debian).
• Experience in managing on-premises data center infrastructure.
• Familiarity with configuring and maintaining web servers (nginx, Apache).
• Practical experience in MySQL administration and HA setups.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, Ansible, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with scripting (Bash, Python, or similar).
• Good English skills (B2 level or higher; B1 acceptable). German is an asset.
• A proactive, solution-oriented mindset with a focus on reliability and scalability.

Zusätzliche Qualifikationen

• Experience in configuring and maintaining firewall and VPN solutions (OpenVPN, pfSense).
• Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Nagios.
• Experience in implementing backup solutions.
• Network knowledge (routing, VLANs, BGP).
