IT Operations Engineer - Application Operations & Automation m/f/d

Summary The Application Administrator is engaged to support the TestCenter KONSENS (TCK), which plays a central role in the release management process of the nationwide tax administration project KONSENS. The primary goal of this role is to ensure application availability and carry out necessary maintenance measures. Responsibilities: Operation and maintenance of the applications and associated services. Management and maintenance of Puppet manifests, modules, and configurations. Ensuring application availability and carrying out regular maintenance windows. Management of application accounts, permissions, and access control. Incident and Problem Management: Acceptance, classification, and prioritization of incidents. Analysis and resolution of application malfunctions, including log evaluation. Escalation management and follow-up of known errors. Release and Patch Management: Evaluation of updates and patches. Documentation and Reporting: Maintenance of operational documentation. Must Haves: Completed university degree with an IT focus or comparable qualification. At least 3 years of professional experience in application administration in the last 6 years. Administration of Suse Linux Enterprise Server (2 - 4 years). Use/Administration of Oracle databases (1 - 4 years). Use of PostgreSQL databases (2 - 4 years). Automation and deployment with Puppet (2 - 4 years). ITIL-oriented Incident and Problem Management (from 1 year). Writing scripts with Bash (2 - 4 years). Implementation of security policies (from 2 years). Handling of container technologies (from 2 years). Automation in Broadcom AWA (2 - 4 years). Further Details: Duration: 18 months, with an option for extension by another 18 months. Onboarding on-site in Karlsruhe, Stuttgart, or Freiburg for two months, followed by up to 80% home office.
