To further develop our IT landscape in the long term, Mohr Siebeck is seeking an engaged individual as a successor to the IT leadership from January 2027. You can expect a structured onboarding phase with personal mentoring and the opportunity to actively shape the digital transformation of a renowned scientific publisher.

Aufgaben

In this role, you will not simply take over the ongoing IT operations, but actively shape the digital foundation of a renowned scientific publisher. You will work closely with the departments, manage external partners, and develop a mature IT landscape with a view to the future.

• Schrittweise Übernahme der Verantwortung für die gesamte IT-Landschaft im Rahmen einer langfristig geplanten Nachfolge
• Sicherstellung eines stabilen, zuverlässigen und sicheren IT-Betriebs für rund 50 Mitarbeitende inklusive Windows-, Linux- und Cloud-Umgebungen
• Betreuung und Weiterentwicklung zentraler Systeme, Fachanwendungen und Datenflüsse, u.a. in den Bereichen ERP, CMS, PIM, Archiv und Datenmanagement
• Steuerung externer IT-Dienstleister, Softwareanbieter und Technologiepartner sowie Bewertung technischer Lösungen und Investitionen
• Unterstützung der Fachabteilungen bei technischen Fragestellungen, Prozessoptimierungen und Systementscheidungen
• Mitwirkung an digitalen Weiterentwicklungsprojekten, etwa in den Bereichen Cloud-Migration, Workflow-Automatisierung und KI-Anwendungen
• Entwicklung einer pragmatischen IT-Strategie gemeinsam mit Geschäftsführung und Fachbereichen sowie fachliche und organisatorische Leitung eines kleinen IT-Teams

Qualifikation

We are looking for an IT generalist with technical expertise, strategic thinking, and a willingness to develop things sensibly. It is important that you understand technical topics, can convey them well, and have a desire to get involved in the specific processes of a publishing company.

• Long-term experience in the IT field, ideally in a generalist role with responsibility for infrastructure, systems, service provider management, and IT projects
• Broad understanding of IT infrastructure, system administration, networks, cloud topics, IT security, and Windows- and Linux-based environments
• Experience with on-premise and cloud architectures, as well as a good understanding of specialized software, interfaces, data flows, and digital business processes
• Experience in managing external service providers, software vendors or technology partners
• Interest in publishing, content processes, metadata, and digital information markets; experience with ERP-, CMS-, PIM-, archive- or publishing systems is a plus, but not a requirement
• Project management experience, openness to new technologies, and a good sense of prioritization
• Communication strength in exchange with departments, service providers, and management
• Hands-on mentality, structured working style, and very good German and English skills
