IT Field Service Engineer (m/f/d) IT Security

For an established technology company in the field of IT security and homeland security, we are looking for an IT Field Service Engineer (m/f/d) for the Berlin location. You will become part of an experienced team and work on highly complex solutions that are used at European border and control points, among other places.

Tasks

• You will be the technical point of contact for customers for questions, malfunctions, and problems related to the border control solutions used.
• You will support customers and partners in the installation and configuration of specialized IT security products.
• During installation, commissioning, and rollout phases, you will support the project teams on-site, for example at airports.
• You will carry out maintenance and fault rectification services and coordinate external partners and suppliers if necessary.
• You will analyze, qualify, and process incoming 2nd and 3rd level support cases. If further expertise is required, you will forward the issues to the responsible departments in a targeted manner.
• You will contribute your technical findings and recurring problem patterns to the collaboration with software development and product management.
• You will install, administer, and maintain reference systems and ensure complete technical documentation.
• You will document support cases in a structured manner and thus actively contribute to the expansion and maintenance of a knowledge base.

Qualification

• A completed technical apprenticeship, ideally as an IT specialist (m/f/d) for system integration, or a comparable qualification.
• Professional experience in 2nd or 3rd level support, system administration, or in technical field service.
• Experience in handling complex IT systems and demanding IT infrastructures.
• Good practical knowledge of Windows and Linux environments as well as experience with the corresponding tools and procedures.
• Sound knowledge in the field of IT security.
• A professional, confident demeanor and a strong understanding of service and customer orientation.
• Very good German and English skills, both written and spoken.
• Willingness for regular business trips, including within Europe.
• Willingness to participate in a regulated and correspondingly compensated on-call duty.
