Your Role at Our Company
As IT-Consultant Data Engineering (m/w/d), you will develop modern and scalable data platforms together with our customers – from high-performance data pipelines to cloud-based data lake and analytics architectures.
You will work closely with customers, development teams, and departments, bringing technical requirements into sustainable solutions. In projects, you will take responsibility and move confidently between engineering and consulting.
Tasks
- You design, develop, and optimize modern data architectures (e.g., databases, data lakes, or lakehouses)
- You develop, optimize, and operate ETL/ELT pipelines
- You work with relational and analytical database systems
- You integrate different data sources from operational, departmental, or external systems
- You ensure data quality, performance, stability, and maintainability
- You support the introduction of cloud-based data platforms
- You advise our customers on data architecture, storage, and integration concepts
- You document data models, pipelines, and technical decisions
Optional:
- You support topics around reporting, analytics, or Power BI
Qualification
- You have a completed degree in the field of computer science, business informatics, or a comparable qualification – and possess at least 3 years of relevant work experience.
- You possess very good knowledge of SQL as well as design relational data models.
- You have experience with databases such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Azure SQL, or similar technologies.
- You bring practical experience in building and operating ETL/ELT processes and working with data lakes, lakehouse architectures, or cloud/hybrid data platforms.
- Ideal would be to have already worked with Microsoft data services like Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, or Microsoft Fabric.
- You work analytically, structured, and solution-oriented and possess a good technical understanding of complex data flows and dependencies.
- You present yourself professionally in the customer field and work independently.
- You possess very good German language skills in writing and speaking (at least C1 level).
What You Can Score Extra Points With
- You have managed requirements in small projects independently or gained experience as a Product Owner
- Knowledge of Python, e.g., for data preparation or automation, is an advantage.
- Experience in agile project environments and a basic understanding of Data Governance or Security concepts round out your profile.
